Treatment and Back

1 minute read time.
Well the weeks and months have came and gone and I have endured all they have thrown at me from Radiotheraphy to the Chemo plus a weeks stay in James Cook Hospital. I have not been able to update my blog over this period as some of you will know its not an easy time. But a surprise e-mail from another member of the site compelled me into action. I can honestly say the last few months has not been easy with all the highs and lows that go with this horrible disease but I hope in writing this blog that other members see that we can get through it. After undergoing 30 sessions of radiotheraphy and 4 chemo and an intensive recovery period seeing doctors and dieticians I found myself calling in at work today to arrange my return if all goes well on my monthly check on the 2nd September. I hope to go back on the 7th September and get back to some normality then I will feel a lot better in myself. I know my doctors will not say I am cured I still have issues with eating due to a dry mouth off all the radiotheraphy but I will get round that as you seem to do in these circumstances. My new hair style leaves little to be desired but who cares a touch short along the hairline but a small price to pay. I hope everyone is coping well and things keep getting better. p.s. I cannot thank everyone enough for the excellent care and treatment I have received at James Cook Hospital Middlesbrough . I will let you know how i get on if i do get back to work. Regards Eric

Hi Eric - I am relatively new to the site - only diagnosed a couple of weeks ago with breast cancer on both sides and my world has been turned upside down - as you will know how it feels.  No light at the end of the tunnel - but hey ho - you are going back to work. That is fantastic news - I cant envisage when I will ever get back to work and am worried about how I will feel after being off so long (and perhaps the fact they managed quite well without me - may be they want to make me redundant)  Oh dear those are my negative Nellie thoughts working over time again.

Back to you - so pleased for you and hope you go on from strength to strength. Take care.

    love Maralyn

Thank for posting - I bet you can't wait to get back to work. it was great to read that you've come through treatment so well - especially as I'm at James Cook too. They've been really good so far.

    Take care,

    k
