The mastectomy was done on 14th May (last Friday). I still have the drain in and I had to have 3 replacement bottles cos I trod on the hose and blew the vacuum. It’s now Saturday and still filling. Some SMART nurses say it must come out after 10 days, some it will be sometime next week. It must come out when it reaches 30ml per day. I came home last Saturday and I think I have been lucky. It hasn’t been too painful but I am very tired. The knitted knocker arrived but I won’t try wearing a bra until it is less tender. I do feel very lop sided but they phoned to offer reconstruction. I would rather they took the right one away for balance but THAT is deemed ‘cosmetic’!
