    Very interesting meeting of the Consumer Liaison Group yesterday. We were all set to communicate to the government our concern over GP commissioning of cancer servcies when a lone voice spoke against, and was allowed to scupper the intitiative. So much for democracy!

    I've just been sent the DVD of the filming for the new "Men and Cancer" campaign. I hate hearing my own voice on recordings - I think I need to see a speech therapist.

    I wonder if they'll use any of it in the campaign? It certainly makes my garden look very verdant!

    Had a very fruitful Users' Group meeting on Saturday morning. Lots of good stuff going on, and we mapped out our priorities for the coming year.

    If Macmillan need a new campaign, they need to sort out the wating times fiasco. Why on earth should hospitals be penalised because a patient decides to go on holiday rather than have treatment?

  • Good news on my PSA

    Got my PSA result today, only a fraction up on the last one, so CNS quite happy with that. Says that after three biopsies they are fairly convinced I've not got the agressive form of prostate cancer, and my next blood test can be in 6 months.

    Although I work with my local Cancer Services Users' Group, and with Macmillan Cancer Voices, one of the most exciting things I'm involved with is the NCRI Informatics Initiative.

    What is it?
