With melanoma now the biggest cancer killer of people in their thirties, it seems odd that its still considered one of the rarer cancers. However, its not one of the "big four" that get all the publicity and attention, so it will be interesting to attend a conference where other cancers are discussed.
Had a great time at Gatwick, despite being "on duty". Met some lovely people for the first time, and some of the lovely people I met before. Also sad to find out about the ones who were there last time, and haven't survived.
Its a great shame we didn't have time to question Ciaran Devine the head of Macmillan - some of Macmillans policies are distinctly awry. Nice to find so many other people fed up with…

Although I'd read the paper beforehand, and a few critiques, it turns out there are another four sub-papers which put the meat on the bones. The paper also excludes Public Health which will be the subject of another white paper later in the year.

I'm going to the local NHS White Paper consultation on Thursday. I have the suspicion that this will be the usual sort of government consultation "This is what we're going to do, like it or lump it" - but I look forward to being disabused of that notion.
