    Well its been a while since I`ve had time to update my blog so here goes .

    A month or so ago we had a fairly stressful period with one thing and another and the Mac nurse thought it would benefit us all to have a weeks respite. We arranged for dad to go in the local nursing home and Al and I booked a  weeks holiday on the Isle of Skye.Our Macmillan nurse is absolutely fantastic with support…

  • In the beginning....

    It all started in September 2010. Dad (who was 81 at the time) started to lose weight and suffer from abdominal pain. His GP said it was indigestion and gave him all the normal stuff ..Gaviscon etc ..none of it worked . Dad also suffers from  COPD and is hospitalized periodically with chest infections and it was after one of these episodes that his GP told him thet he couldn`t do any more for him . Needless to say dad…
