    My dad had an operation to remove the tumour today. It was more severe than they thought from the xrays, and he has had to have his Colon and small bowel removed. He has also been given a temporary stoma and will need to have surgery again in about 6 months.

    He is in intensive care this evening, though they are concerned about his breathing.

     

    The last few days before his surgery he was getting really bad, he fell backwards…

    Dad went for his Endoscope thing up his backside.

    Had an appointment with a consultant, who said about having an operation to remove.

    We had a reasonable Christmas and New Year, making the most to be together.

    Yesterday Dad got a call from the hospital to come up to A&E, as they wanted to see him. He thought it a bit strange, but tropsed up to the hospital all the same with my mum in tow. However when they got there…

    My Dad has been feeling "not right" for a while, we reckon since about February / March 2012. Noticibly he has not really fancied eating chocolate which for my dad is a big thing as he lives on chocolate and would eat it for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day.
