...can't believe a year has passed since Dad had his initial diagnosis of AML!!
This time last year we were in a place of disbelief and confusion, as dad went from healthy, no cares in the world..to sitting in a hospital bed awaiting his first cycle of chemotherapy.
I am very happy to report that Dad continues to be in remission...and not only that, but he is going from strength to strength. He and my mother have now resumed their 3 weekly visits to the gym (put me to shame, my parents!!)where he has been slowly building up his fitness and it's lovely to see dad as I know him back again, playing with his grandchildren and living again.
Every 3 months the check up with his consultant is obviously a worry for us all, but so far we have been blessed with good news...and I realise how fortunate we are for that.
So here's hoping that the next year brings more positive things for dad, and for everyone else on a similar journey xxxxx
