Home sweet home!

1 minute read time.
First of all I want to say thank you to everyone who has sent their best wishes on hearing how well dad is doing...it means a lot! Went to see dad yesterday. I picked him up from the hospital in the morning & took him home. He was really pleased to be able to come home, especially on such a lovely spring day so he was able to wander round his 'grounds' and check that mum had been doing the weeding/planting/pruning to his satisfaction!! Amy was dead chuffed to see her grandad home and presented him with a hand-picked (albeit slightly wilted) daffs! When I asked her if she thought that dad would be excited to be home, she replied....'I think he will be so excited that he will burst!' (bless her!) Having not seen dad for a couple of weeks I was a little apprehensive to see if he had changed much physically. I needn't have worried. Apart from looking a little older & having slightly thinner hair he was same old dad! So we had a lovely day - and roast dinner....thanx mum xxx! - before dad went back to hospital. He was only there overnight though and is now back home again for the rest of the week before he starts his next session of chemo. The doctors are more than happy with the levels of his blood and have said that he is so 'normal' that he will be able to see Thomas (my little lad) who had his MMR jab last week - so that's really great as I know he was disappointed about not being able to see him at the weekend. I know I've said this before, but I still can't quite believe just how well dad is responding to treatment so far, it is more than we could have possibly hoped for and it's amazing how much more positive and strong we feel compared to a month ago. Mum is really pleased to have him home, even if it does mean she will probably - no DEFINITELY! - be kept awake by dad's snoring for the next week!!!!! Some how I don't think she'll mind too much!
