First cycle of chemo over....!

1 minute read time.
Dad has finished his first cycle of chemotherapy today!! And boy, has it seemed like a long 5 days!!! (And if that's how I feel about it, I can only imagine how it must be for him!!!) It seems to have gone well, and dad has had minimal side effects from the treatment. He's had a little bit of nausea that was controlled by anti-sickness drugs, and is obviously feeling more tired - but other than that all seems well. The docs have said they are really, really pleased with the way things are going, which is fantastic news and all we could hope for. He now stays in hospital for monitoring & to have his bloods and bone marrow checked. I think he's due to have the next cycle of treatment in two or three weeks or so. Anyway, relief all round that he has got through this first week without too many side effects. Am going to visit dad on Sunday and will be taking the little ones as the docs say it is ok as long as they don't have any infections/illness - so fingers crossed nothing crops up before then as I think they'll cheer him up!!! (And probably wear him out!!!) And now, for a while....we just wait!
