Chemo number 2!

1 minute read time.
After a lovely week at home dad is now back in hospital and has started his second cycle of chemo today. He loved being able to potter around and get out in the fresh air - even though a walk to the postbox took about 45 minutes as he bumped into lots of the neighbours who were keen to find out how he was (which is nice). The thing he found most frustrating was his lack of energy after being such an active person. He's trying to keep in mind that this will improve down the line. When he rang before going in he was told that unfortunately he had to go on a general ward in a 'short term' bed for the night as no beds were available in the unit he was in before. Mum said he was obviously very disappointed as his face dropped when they told him as he was then worried that that would mean a delay in the start of his chemo. Fortunately he was moved back into the unit this morning to begin chemo. The doctors said that his figures were very good although in his last bone marrow sample they had detected 'molecular traces' of leukaemia - (what ever that means??...anybody???) - so think he will need 3 to 4 cycles of treatment. All gone well so far & no ill effects from the chemo so yay! Then hopefully at the end of the week he will be able to come home again until his bloods drop, all being well.
