with noodles in my head, and nodules in my lungs....the road continues...

1 minute read time.

saw Dr Hogg at Burnley yesterday.....the lung biopsy showed that it is my breast cancer that has spread..

starting chemo on Friday...they are tablets called..capecitabine and vinorelbine...I haven't had this type of chemo...and i may not lose my hair..so that will be nice...

what won't be nice...I've had the lung drain in a few weeks now and the stitches are out...it's comfy and easy to drain....may now have to be removed, something about it being seen as a 'foreign body' and getting infection....

what will be nice...the chemo will also circulate around my noodle brain and if there are any naughty noodles left up there then they'll get chemo'd as well....

more nice stuff..my macmillan nurse is arranging for me to visit the hospice on Monday's so i can meet other people...and they also do stuff like massages and reiki..( not sure what that is though )...but it sounds good...

the ball gown is comimg along...slowly...cos I've still got steroid eyes....but it looks more like a dressing gown....!!

I've been able to exercise my legs a bit...it really scared me when i fell over...i sleep downstairs now and only go up when it's daylight and i'm proper awake....

i don't mind though cos my settee is the comfiest on the world.....and you know what.....last night i had the best 'dream' ever....my nana was sat with me all night, in her rocking chair, right next to me...cos that's what nana's do..........onwards and upwards.......

Ball gown, dressing gown - whatever you're comfortable in and looks good. I hope the new chemo does a good job of zapping all your nasties and doesn't have too many horrid side-effects. Good luck!

Hooorah for nanas with you in the night... :) That made me smile and feel you were being looked after in a cosy smiley way. I like it. :)

I think a crushed velevet dressing gown that looks like a ballgown in the perfect thing! You can feel dressed up all the time then while you float around the house lounging on the sofa...

I hope the chemo goes well and you don't get too many nasty side effects and hope that they get the brain noodles too if any are left in there. which there had better not be of course.

Phew, Jackie is all I can say! When I was first diagnosed my consultant asked me what I had been doing the 2  weeks since then and I said I took my class camping cringing thinking he was going to tell me off He grinned and said did you enjoy it? Yes, the best... says I.  He said, attitude is big part of this journey and I like your attitude. And sure as hell, you  have an even better attitude to me as your journey continues.

so here's to fighting like a girl and ballgown dressing gowns and massages and reiki (nice healing, feel good thing)

Sorry about the drain. But they must have to drain it somehow? and hope your legs get stronger soon. Can they give you some physio exercises? My mum had to put a tin of beans in a pain if tights and drape that over her leg and lift it up i remember. She couldn't do it for the sniggering I remember.... !

    Big hug to you

    Hi there,

Hope the chemo goes well and doesn't cause to many problems. It's good that it will be zapping any noodles in your brain as well.

Glad to hear the ball/dressing gown is coming on. I sure you will look great wearing it  - posher than LM I would think.

Bad news about the drain, just as you get comfortable with it they take it out!

But great news about being offered massages and reiki, whatever the reiki is!

Best welsh cwtches and storska kram,

    Odin xxx
