    Dear Cella

I certainly will not tell you not to worry!  I too have ovarian cancer and the day before my first chemo I was in a dreadful state, not knowing what to expect but fearing the worst.  When I arrived at the hospital for chemo I was quite ready to refuse treatment and go home, but the nurses were all extremely kind, and quite frankly all I can say is that it was not half as bad as I feared.  What regime are you having?  I was on carboplatin and paclitaxel, which I think is the bog standard treatment for ovarian cancer.  The first infusion went really smoothly and I felt pretty good afterwards - I even went for a 3 mile walk the following day.  The important thing to remember is that the chemo is killing the cancer . . .  I finished my treatment at the end of November, and since then I have had a clear scan, so the chemo did its job.  And now I'm growing hair again!

Good luck for tomorrow - I'm sure it will be easier than you fear.  Please let us know how you get on.

    With very best wishes

Hi Cella - I wouldn't presume to tell you not to worry, would be a stupid thing to say anyway. I think in most hospitals now, they have a large, very informal room, where all the patients sit around in comfy chairs, having their chemotherapy treatments. I had my chemo in a really nice relaxed atmosphere, and also met some wonderful people. I'd like to wish you all the very best for tomorrow morning, and let us know how you get along. Lots of love      kate xxxxxxxx
