I start chemo tomorrow

Less than one minute read time.
I start chemo tomorrow and I must say, I am nervous. So many unknowns for my conditions(s). I can't wait for tomorrow morning to be tomorrow evening.

    Hi

Wanted to say good luck with chemo to-morrow. I was diagnosed March 2008 with stage 3c ovarian ca. Like Kate treated with taxol and carboplatin and it wasn't as bad as i had feared,  i think it's normal to be anxious. I was treated with great care and respect and encouraged to ask questions. I met other women in the same situation as myself and that was and continues to be a tremendous support. My treatment finished with the above in July, i had a clear scan mid way through my treatment and to date all scans have had the same good result. The other women i met are also doing well,i don't know what's ahead but having the treatment has been worth it. I know everyone is different but the side effects were not as bad as i imagined, i hope the same is true for you.

All the very best for to-morrow.

hi cella just want to wish you good luck for tomorrow . the only bits of advice i can give you is to listen to your body & rest when you need to . chemo can change your taste buds so foods you like may not taste the same i found eating fresh pinnapple worked for me a small piece eaten before your meal seems to take a way the metalic taste that the steroids that you are given cause. don't be scared love i am not saying its an easier process but it is there to kill the cancer.my other advice is take as much offers of help that are offered ie a cooked meal .house work etc .also a good one good oral hygine please don't think i am being rude but most people do end up with a sore mouth i did it was awfull use mouth wash that the hospital will give you sometimes you may  have to ask for it or you can buy corsodyl which is the best one . i hope i havn't worried more but these things do help so much good luck for tomorrow you will be ok at my hospital the nurses were fantastic & you meet lots of new people in the same boat as you who can then become new friends. also take some reading material because it can some times be a long day take care love n hugs theresa xxxx
