Time to come out of hibernation, but such a effort

Thanks for taking the time to contact me.

I have had some good news since New Year: Professor who does all the overall supervision on my treatment does not need to see me for 2 years.

My surgeon has given me a 3 month gap to heal and gain more weight and strength before the next mastectomy and recons.

Genetics found that  I was born with a missing code in the Brac 2, therefore the protein that the Brac 2 Gene normally makes to protect me from Cancer broke down.Genetics have also referred me to Gynaecology for Ovaries removal.

Breast Clinic is sending me to a Scan due to a button type lump found on the reconstructed breast; think it may be scar tissue or calcifications or fibrous, but want to investigate.

Have found out that it may be possible to get ovaries removed without needing a full hysterectomy and that maybe just maybe they might be able to remove the ovaries at the same time as next mast and recons; will save me time, though longer healing.

Very apprehensive about it all, but know it needs to be done. Today I had a shower for the 2nd time since leaving hospital, carer helped me as been washing at sink mainly. Covered the bathroom mirror as still hate looking at myself, but slowly getting there.

Hair now 4cm and curly, but still elfin grey and been told that it will take up to 18 months before all the chemicals etc are out of my system, but hair a tiny bit ginger, so I have to be patient. Not allowed to put Henna on at all, just use baby shampoo.

Still very tired, lethargic and its an effort some days. Arm is aching as still recovering from Radiotherapy.

Hope to speak to everyone soon. Feel as if I have been hibernating, mind you considering the weather we have had, may be the best idea I have ever had. xxxx
