Ramblings of a mad DIYer

2 minute read time.
Well anyone who is following this will know that I was going to do all those little DIY jobs, the first of which was to add another few rows of tiles around the bath because the water pressure on my shower is so fierce it bounces half way up the wall. Monday morning and the sun is shining, not just a little but a lot - now you can't stay in doors on a nice day - so the tiling gets "posponed"!! I spent the day in the garden - lovely - I pulled weeds, found slugs yukky, potted up plants, sat on the bench and watched Poppy have a mad run round, drank tea. I had stripped off the bed and had got the washing dry, bonus. Then I tidied up my bespoke conservatory - ok its a lean too but thinks its a conservatory. I live in a victorian end of terrace and the sale details said it had a conservatory, bit of very creative writing by the estate agent that. Anyway some mug had to buy it - oh yes thats me! The said "conservatory" is made of brown wood, its not air tight and in winter its colder in there than it is outside, honest you get frosty windows and moss on the inside. Added to which it had one unpainted plastered wall, one royal blue wall and one sunshine yellow, oh and there was a hole in the door!. After my first op I decided I couldn't bear it any longer - it had to be painted - so 7 days after my mastectomy I was up a step ladder painting - its now a lovely yellowy cream. I was laughing about it with a neighbour and he said it was "bespoke" - its become a standing joke. It gradually became filled with junk, propagators, tomato food, screen wash etc and was driving me nuts, hence the tidy up. It now looks as lovely as its ever gonna, I have some plants out there and a wicker chair so I can sit and look out at the garden. Was so shattered after all that it was time for bed, and then I remembered I had to make the bl**dy bed, I've lost count of the number of times I've done that!. Have you tried getting a king size quilt into a cover when your arm is sore, shake, shake - curse curse - hot flush!! I ordered myself a waterproof coat from Cotton Traders the other day and it arrived - looked very funny with my Pj's lol. Still swinging me arms round, they are getting better - but its a bit like one step forward and two steps back. Take care all Carol x
