Lung cancer hope

1 minute read time.

Hi my husband was told he had lung cancer that spread to his chest lymph nodes nearly 2 years ago and was told it was at stage 3 and operation is not an option we can not get rid of it we can just control it. He had first chemo then before the last 2 sessions he started radio therapy for 7 weeks 5 days aweek and was told its gone well done!!!!!!!!! but there is a little something we are not sure of so after many CT scans xray and a PET scan and a brochoscopy they were still not sure, his oncologist said, it may be pus but I think it is cancer and the best way to get rid of this hot spot is removal,we were quite shocked as we understood he couldnt have an operation but went ahead with it on the 2 nd June 2010 and they removed the bottom lobe of his right lung and a tube .it all went well and according to plan .Had the follow up yesterday to the surgeon and had an xray first, they said its gone no sign in the nodes etc so after nearly 3 years of battling some good news,I cant say its been easy but it may give someone hope by reading this and if anyone would like to ask any questions I have kept a diary of events so I should be able to answer most questions all the best Carol

Hi Carol. Thats great news. Your husband's story is identical to mine until his latest op to cut out the recurrence.   May this be the last thing for him and he goes on for many more years now.
