What an awful thing to happen.  I just can't believe that you were told so callously! What a thing to say for goodness sake.  I sometimes wonder why people take jobs in the NHS when they have no 'people' skills.  I have worked in the NHS for over 30 years in different roles but all dealing with the public face to face and it would have been more than my job's worth to talk to them in the way some have mentioned on these forums.

Ring your local health authority/primary care trust or whoever holds the purse strings and tell them exactly how you have been made to feel and if you get no joy then think about going to the local press to highlight this terrible situation that others will also be in. It's fantastic that you keep a positive attitude most of the time but every now and then we have to come out fighting!

    Good luck

  • Hi Rose,

I agree, this is scandalous. I can understand you feeling really fragile at the moment and I agree it might be a good idea to get someone to act on your behalf. Contacting the local or even the national press might rattle a few cages and get something done. You could also try contacting your MP. You need someone with authority on your side. Every good wish and positive thought I can muster are winging their way to you!

    Hi Rose,

I find that unbelievable, that anyone could be treated like that. You definitely should go to your MP and the papers. I am sending you love, lots of p.m.a and  prayers. Take care,

    Hi Rose

I suggest you get a large bus and plaster a poster on the side and drive it to the hospital and park outside the main entrance. Just wait and see the response you get, especially if you tip off the local press about it.

    Good luck, keep battling on.

    Regards EK

Have you had a CT scan lately?  Make sure that you keep your options open.  Of course a PET scan is much better, but if it costs a lot more money, it would be better to have something in the interim.

Make sure you get treated while you write off to the Primary Care Trust, the Hospital Trust, and don't throw all your teddies out of the pram at once.

Go to the PALS office, and see what they can do.  (Patient Advice and Liaison Office)  Main reception should be able to tell you where to find them.

It may be that you have been misinformed if not completely then perhaps in emphasis.
