Marathon pain

Less than one minute read time.

VLM2011 - I'd like to say it was the best day of my life and that I feel victorious. I'd like to, but in reality it was the worst self inflicted pain other than childbirth that I have ever been though. It hurt from the off, and my fear about my tiredness of the previous few weeks was founded in that it took me 7, yes 7hrs to drag myself around (my long training runs had suggested maybe 5). If I set off walking I could normally do it quicker! Still, that's it done, and lots of cash raised for Macmillan. Renewed respect for charity runners (especially the rhinos!), but I'd say never, ever, ever again. Well done everyone who took part or was there to support, and thanks again for the online support. All the best! Bx

    Hi Bliss

Very well done!!!!!!!!!!  It's hardly surprising that you completed the course: you are (rightly) my inspiration both on and off the running track.  7 hours running: amazing.  I am full of admiration for you (and a bit jealous for your guts to go for it).

    All the very best
