first chem over!

Less than one minute read time.

Well the waiting and worry about first treatment for hubby is over! He had R chop today and so far feels fine! I'm sure it won't last but it's a good start.

  • Best of luck for future treatments. It is not an easy road but so much better if you have a good relationship to  give support.

    HI Bess

Sorry you have had to join the lymhoma group - none of us want to be here but it is hugely supportive

I have been off the boards for a while but saw that your hubby has lymphoma. Do you know what type it is yet?

I found that after the initial shock of the diagnosis I felt better once the treatment started as at least we were "attacking it" . Colin has 6 x ARA_c (instead of T CHOP) and was in remission after cycle 6. We are not waiting for a stem cell transplant so although his lymphoma is incurable the "treatable" part of the diagnosis seems to be true and we are feeling positive that he will obtain a long term remission.

Be aware that the effects of the chemo are cumulative and he may require transfusion after about cycle three - that is ok because it shows the chemo is working

    Take Care

Thanks everyone-it is great to have this support-it feels very lonely because you have to put on the 'normal bubble' with friends and family-already forgotton what normal is!!!!

Hubby still ok-day 7 and a slight cough but no temp-is that normal? Still avn't had mantle cell confirmed but we have accepted it will be so next chemo will be over 3 days in hospital. The prospect of stem cell transplant is very scary, but they say it will give him the best chance. It is very hard to be positive but we are trying hard!!!
