Well survived Christmas... bah humbug

1 minute read time.
Well I survived christmas even though it is a string of totally unwanted public holidays. But let's face it my life IS a holiday these days. At least no hospitals or doctors wanted me and that is a relief because I am sick of the sight of them. Unfortunately, in an old folks home christmas is in your face wherever you look... there is no escape arrrgh... The blood man came to visit on 24th Dec and my warfarin is not up to scratch so now I have to take another mg ! given that I was already taking 4 to 5 times what any normal person would take. As a result of all this rat poison...my menopause has been cancelled... the real one... not my permanent pause from men which is definitely not cancelled. I got precisely no loot for christmas except for two oxfam cards to tell me that I had donated two chooks and a duck to some third world country... and the bastard who did that for me got a pair of socks from me!!!! Other than that, I ate heaps of food... drank virtually nothing... and ended the day worn out... so I was brought back to the old folks home to sleep the day off. The day before christmas I went to a friends house and we watched a dvd of mamamia... I don't know what anyone else thought of it but it seemed to me to be a bit like a bollywood movie... no real plot but lots of random singing and dancing (fortunately in a language I know and songs I grew up with). still love to all Janet

    Hi Janet,

I have Mama Mia to look forward to - we borrowed the DVD from the library. Is it a load of rubbish then? Ah well, I'll have to get drunk. No, maybe not, I indulged a little too much on Christmas Eve and couldn't face a drop of the stuff on Christmas Day. It was all I could do to cook the dinner, after which I went for a little old lady's nap. Bliss.

Hope you enjoyed the thought of the chickens and duck going to a 3rd world family. The buggers have probably eaten them by now! I thought you only gave pressies like that to rich sods who have everything they need. I should demand the socks back if I were you.

Good luck with the warfarin and the lack of menopause. And the lack of men! They're OK for carrying heavy bags so don't be too harsh on them all. My one's OK but he's a feminist so I'm lucky.

    Stay happy.
