My tumours have been selected

Less than one minute read time.
When I saw the Oncologist this week, he asked if I would agree to allow my tumours to be used in research. Obviously I said yes as anything that helps in the advancement of research has to be a good thing. My consultant and I signed a consent form and I also had to donate two large vials of blood so that they can extract my DNA and presumably other things. As I've been a good girl so far, I wasn't concerned about my DNA being extracted. I filled out a questionnaire giving details of my nearest and dearest, and whether they had cancer. So in honour of my tumours' achievement I have decided to name them, Bill and Frank (they had to be male as they gave me so much bother!). I hope that Bill and Frank go on to achieve great things and that they provide another piece of the puzzle that helps in the fight against this disease. I was informed that they are doing a large study into bowel cancer that will involve 20,000 patients. Has anyone else been asked to donate? Angela x
