crap day

Less than one minute read time.
not the best of days its been 14 days since my biopsy. was told would have a result within 5-6 days, hadn't heard anything so i phoned my consultant to see what was happening. his secretary told me that my results were in the ward office where i was admitted 2 weeks ago. she then said i would get a letter when they decided to send the results to my consultant. thats not the best bit she then said don't worry 2 weeks isn't that long a time to wait for a result i should just be paitent. don't want to winge but am really p'ed off.any how hope everyone else are having good days

I totally know how you are feeling and so will everyone else on this 'journey'.  Waiting is  sometimes the hardest part of going through this experience. I had to wait 2 weeks for my results after the initial biopsy for malignant melanoma on my ankle. I then had to wait 2 weeks after the Sentinel Node Biopsy to see if it had spread (luckily for me it hadn't).  That didn't stop me wondering in the middle of the night was I going to be ok while I waited for the results.  At my first 3 monthly check up the Cancer Nurse found another suspect mole so ended up having a punch biopsy and another 3 week wait for those results ( I think I will invest in shares in hair colourant as I'm sure more grey hair sprouted at this time lol).

It's ok to have a "winge" we all understand.  It doesn't get any easier but at least we all know how you are feeling!

    Take care

well you could ring up the ward you were on and ask nurse in charge to hurry up and send your results to the consultant

    and

keep ringing the secretary tell her you are getting stressed

    and

go back to your gp and tell him its stressin you out

    and generally keep nagging everyone!

they will all get so fed up theyll soon sort you out

    but

sometimes i think urgent reslts are always rushed through - so maybe -good news is awating you - eventually!

    take care

    im dreading tomorrow

my son gets results of his bone scan!

im gonna nag HIM upstairs through prayer tonite

i think HEs getting a bit fed up of hearing from me

sharing another (((BIG HUG))) with you

the waiting is the hardest bit to deal with, you're mind goes in over-drive, especially during the night, I hope you get the results you want and soon and have a better day tomorrow, take care, viv xx

  • I have a very supportive GP. My bone scan reults were on my file and he accessed it and told me it was clear last Wednesday at 1pm.

The clinic rang me with the results Friday at 2 30pm

Try your GP bone scans should take a week I was told by the staff but it was on file after 6 days.

    Good Luck.
