hair yesterday gone today !

1 minute read time.

Hi all,

Today my hubby has shaved my hair to a grade 3. I got so fed up of losing it down the plug hole that I decided it was time to get a grip and stop putting off the inevitable. So this morning we went looking for a scarve while waiting for the ones on order to arrive. Yay found one, now got to learn how to put it on. Bless him, my hubby carefully shaved off my hair. It was upsetting at first but when he had finished and I looked at myself I felt good that finally this was of my own doing and not teh chemo's. It still feels strange but I'll get used to it eventually. My 11 year old son, who was scared of seeing me with no hair is ok with it thank god. Its funny but my eldest son who is 19 is not bothered at all his feelings are that you can't change things so why worry, wish I had the same philosophy. But I worry more bout others than I do myself.

Any way another hurdle on this journey completed, well nearly still got some hair.

Love and Hugs to you all Amanda xx

    Good for you Amanda.

I had my first cycle of chemo on 19th Nov and shaved all my hair of for a few charities on 4th Dec.  I was left with the smallest amount of stubble. I was so glad i did it. The only thing i wouldn't recommend is having a bath until all the stubble has gone. I had a bath a couple of nights aftermy shave instead of my usual shower, it was like having a bath in my husband sink of shaving water, only bath size :-) We had a really good laught about it. Thankfully all the stubble has now gone completely, so more relaxing bath times to come.

Good for you. I wasnt brave enough for that and picked hair constantly throughout chemo and got very upset by it. Well Done x

well done amanda,b4 i started chemo my hair was waist length (only because i was 2 lazy to go to hairdressers tee hee ) so when they told me in no uncertain terms i would lose y hair, i had it cut short, within days of starting chemo my hair was faling out so i buzzed it of,i used to hate hats, but with the winter in full swing i had to have one, now i have loads and the actually suit me, shaving my hair was easier than hving it cut,ive had some strange looks and some people have actually stood and stared when i had th courage to go without a hat but hey if i can cope wit it so can they, i am now totally bald from head to toe includeing eyebrows and eyelashes, but it will grow back eventuallyso well done u love n hugs xx
