First chemo done 7 more to go!

1 minute read time.

Hi all,

Started yesterday with a trip out with my sister to have her wedding dress fitting, she is getting married in January. She looked gorgeous and I am not ashamed to say I cried. We then went for a walk in town (Wolverhampton)which passed the time away before chemo in the afternoon.

Had to wait over 45 mins after my appointment and got a bit fed up. But once it got started it wasn't too bad and I am happy to say I got through the first cycle of FEC only 7 more to go. Last night was a bad night felt really sick even with the anti sickness tabs. For the first time in ages I went to bed before 10 pm and slept but kept waking up during the night. Felt queasy this morning but as day went on was feeling better. Went shopping in Birmingham with my sister, mom and my future step nieces. Had a good day but tired when I got home and slept while my eldest cooked the tea, which was lovely southern fried chicken noodles and beans. Hubby has gone out on his works due so am being looked after by my two lovely sons. Watching X Factor again now that the terrible twins have left lol. I expected to feel worse than this to be honest and my sis (she is a nurse) said that I am doing really well. Keep feeling my hair to see if any are dropping out lol, I know it is a bit early but I am becoming obsessed lol. I am still positive and feel better now that I am 1 down on the chemo road. Don't want it to stop me doing ususal things though which I am concerned about, I do lover going to watch my beloved football team (we have a local derby tomorrow which I am hoping to go to if I'm still feeling this good).

Would love Olly to win X Factor xx

Just wanted to add something to my blogg, I would like to take my hat off to all those going through this journey without the love and support of partners, family and friends. I feel that you are the strongest of us has you have to get carry on regardless of how you feel. Bless you all.

lots of Love, Hugs and Kisses Amanda xxx

  • Hi Amanda

Well done. As you say 1 down and 7 to go. The time between treatments goes so quickly. You will turn round and realise it is all over.

Brave girl for going to Brum. Bet the Bullring was busy.

I live not too far from you in Worcester. There was a Victorian Fayre in the centre from Thursday till tomorrow. The traffic has been horrific so I will have to finish my Christmas shopping next week.

    Hope you enjoy the footi.

So glad your first chemo went ok. Was thinking about you. You will be surprised how quick the cycles go take each 1 as it comes.

I thought about you on Friday and I am really glad it went ok and you are feeling alright. It must be a relief to get the first cycle over with.
