Exemption from prescription charges

Less than one minute read time.

Got my exemption card  from prescription charges this week. I thought ok its 5 years not a very long time it will be over before I know it. I then began to think about 2014 and I realised that my husband will be 50, I'll be 49, my eldest will be 24 and the youngest will be 16. It seems so surreal that by the time I get the all clear (positive thinking) so much would have happened, I could even be a nan, if my eldest ever gets his head out of cyber space lol. I know that all this is a long way off and I need to take one step at a time but I couldn't help thinking about all the things that will be different in 5 years time.

I've  just got too much time to think !!

Being diabetic too I've had my exemption certificate for years... in fact so many years that it had expired! Ooops! So I had to fill in a form to get a new one but was only allowed to tick one qualifying illness. So I ticked the diabetes again as I'm stuck with that, the cancer, well they're gonna cure that aren't they??

    :-)

    love n hugs

    Hi,

I have just caught up on all your blogs. You're doing so well and keeping strong amazingly well. I totally know how hard it is to be 'strong' around everyone, especially the kids, so it's perfectly fine to have the odd cry in private. We all need it. You'll find the people on this site incredibly supportive, so when you have your down moments, your cyber army (thanks Debs!)will look after you (sorry, Debs, but I just love the whole 'Cyber Army' concept and can't stop using it!!!!)

I had my exemption certificate when I became a single mum. They just keep sending me a new one each year! You've made me think about 5 years time now (I'll also be on Tamoxifen) and my kids (twins!) will be 14!!

Here for you when ever you need hun.
