Blood test done. Results came back, but not to my usual GP, sent a text: “Cholesterol high, I’ve booked you in for a repeat test in two weeks.” Lots of information about how to reduce it. Nothing else mentioned.
Not surprised cholesterol its high enough to warrant a recheck, isn’t many people’s? I left it a few days then started to wonder just how high it was. I asked GP receptionist for the complete results to see exactly how bad it was. Told it was on the NHS App. What app?
An hour later NHS app on my phone and access code from GP reception I have all the separate test results in full. Get the app, if you haven’t got it’s essential with long term illness.
i have no clue what all the numbers mean. So I copy and paste all the separate results into AI(Grok). Without any hint, I ask any concerns with the results of this blood test?
A few seconds later five paragraphs of information. To summarise:
1. Sorry you are dealing with possible prostate cancer. Along with paragraph of background detail on raised PSA.
2. EGFR at 55 is concerning. Designated as stage 3A its early stage chronic kidney disease. Along with paragraph of background detail.
3. Then at the bottom cholesterol is raised consider lifestyle changes to reduce it. Or discuss statins with GP.
There then follows an hour where Grok convinces me with nice guidelines, forum details and gettingitrightfirsttime I do possibly have prostate cancer and kidney disease.
Shocked I am and no mistake. What happens next…
