Hello everyone,
This is the start of my blog sharing my active surveillance journey with localised 3+4=7 prostate cancer (CPG 3).
It all kicked off in the most ordinary way. Family came down to Cornwall for a two-week stay. After about 10 days of house full (11 of us) good food, laughs, walks with Skye our Westie. Late nights BBQs you get the idea. I suddenly got this intense burning sensation in both forearms. It felt like fire under the skin.
I thought perhaps I had an allergic reaction or maybe an insect bite although I couldn’t see a rash or bite mark. Popped to the pharmacist she gave me a cream and antihistamine to calm it down. She also sent a letter to my GP suggesting a check-up. The burning faded over the next several days as life returned to normal, so I nearly left it. My wife was adamant: “You need to book that appointment.” Wise as ever. I did, had a blood test … and that’s where things got interesting.
see you soon..
