So I am Remarkable ?

1 minute read time.

What a week I have had.  I had a very positive meeting with a breast cancer Professor in Harley Street on thursday.  I decided to pay for one hour to ask further questions and discount options that I had read about.  Instead he suggested some further options and was positive.  He called me remarkable and said that I was proof that you shouldnt just treat a scan picture as my bloods are virtually normal and I look great  (didnt tell him that was the power of makeup).  He has set up a research facility that he has modeled on one in america where he also works.  I got to see the research director and team the next day.  Turns out that they all trained under my australian oncologist who was amazing and I had met one girl in Sydney.  That gave me a lot of confidence, potentially two trials coming up in a few months that I could be eligible for.

Meanwhile I catch a cold on day 10, go up to London, stay night with a friend and come back to Devon in time to go to a party on Saturday.  Left early feeling rubbish and took myself off to chemo ward feeling rough on Sunday.  Turns out I have a chest infection so they kept me in for 24 hours with oral antibiotics.  Bit scared of being on the ward for the first time so the nice sister put me in a side room with all mod cons.  Woke up this morning feeling much better, back on the steroids as liver is swollen but much more comfortable overnight and slept for 8 hours straight.

Another first, I met my macmillan nurse this morning for the first time.  Felt this was another milestone but feel positive that I have put all these new things in place.  All I keep hearing is how positive and strong I am, apparently that helps with the battle.

Next chemo on 22nd all being well and then TAKE THAT on the 30th, I will be there come hell or high water.......xx
