Finally A Positive Update

Less than one minute read time.

So having felt rubbish for the last few months, I am now feeling better !

2nd round of carbo/gem yesterday, liver functions improving and I feel alot brighter.  Had a horrible time with 1st cycle, nose bleeds and brusing, the fear of the unknown - I didnt know low red platelets were very common.

My 6 year old came into the ward for the first time to see the end of the chemo yesteday and took it all in her stride and loved watching the needle coming out, maybe she will be a nurse when she grows up.

Looking forward to back to school tuesday, its been a long 7 weeks.

Best wishes to all

Dear coogee, glad you're on the right road, and, as Kate says above, kids really are our strength.  I wish you well and lots of love.  Ann x

    Hi Coogee,

So glad you are feeling better.  It's true the kids give us strength as however you feel in yourself, I find keeping things as normal as possible for them helps me through the day. It sounds like your daughter is a plucky young lady.  As you say it's quite nice to be back in the school routine, although I'm not sure my kids would agree!...Best wishes  Helen.
