Two weeks later...

1 minute read time.

Today it's two weeks since my operation and I feel noticeably better and much less fatigued. The family came at the weekend and although I was really tired at times, I did join in with everything so it's not surprising. I read stories and blogs from people who seem to have resumed normal life two days after surgery and wonder how they did it. I felt no compulsion to go walking on the moors and did as I was told. It's only within the last day that the wound has stopped feeling quite warm (to begin with it felt really hot) and because it's now much less numb it's also still very sore and itchy. I have done all the exercises and there is no loss of mobility in my arm – in fact it might even have improved thanks to the stretching. All in all, my impression is that it is healing well and so am I.

Yesterday I signed up for a 'Look Good Feel Better' workshop. I felt a bit of a fraud as I probably won't need chemotherapy but lots of the women there didn't either and it is for everyone with a diagnosis. In fact it was a very enjoyable few hours – and the bag of freebies is wonderful – a lot of L'Oreal, YSL, Dolce and Gabanna, NARS all of which must have added up to over £100. We all got to talk about our experiences which was interesting but scary as well.

My follow up appointment is on Friday but that fact is - today I have nothing much else to say which suggests to me that I am recovering well.
