Hi Daisy
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that you have had a diagnosis of endometrial cancer and I remember what a worrying time it was when I had my diagnosis in 2022.
I think most of us felt scared and isolated at first and even when we have people around us, it can be normal to experience a whole range of emotions. There are many lovely ladies on here who will want to offer you support so please to reach out to us when you need us.
My cancer was staged at 1b and I also had a grade 3 cancer( although mine was not serous- there are actually several different ones) So the good news is that your provisional stage is still an early one.
My hysterectomy was also done via keyhole and I recovered well from it. I was in hospital one night and had little pain. Once home I was able to do most of the things I would normally do although I had to avoid lifting anything heavy. I did take time to rest and listened to my body, however was able to go for short walks straight away.
For some ladies the hysterectomy can be enough on its own but this is normally confirmed when the post op results come back. It is those results they look at to see whether any further treatment is advisable.
We do have the Macmillan Support Line available from 8am-8pm everyday if you feel like talking things through would help- so please do not feel alone.
If you click on my name, my profile will come up but if there is anything you need, please do ask.
Jane
Hi Daisy
Sorry to hear your news, it is a shock when you get diagnosed, and a horrible time of the year for you to have this hanging over you. You have come to the right place here, so don’t feel alone, even if you want a rant go ahead!
hopefully Jane’s response has given you some reassurance
Hi Daisy65
I felt as though I was in a parallel universe when I was first diagnosed and taking each day as it came helped me manage. It must be horrible having to wait until after Christmas for your op with all the festivities everywhere. My cancer was stage 1b and grade 2 and I had an abdominal hysterectomy. I was surprised at how quickly I recovered and I think the secret is listen to your body and don’t overdo things even though it’s tempting. If you have any questions this is definitely the best place to ask them there are so many ladies here who have different stories to tell.
Sending hugs to you

I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I remember waiting for the hysterectomy was tough. I tried to concentrate on getting ready and found lots of helpful info from this forum about what to put in my hospital bag. It distracted me a bit to put some things in place for when I came home too. This is such a supportive community and I found it helped a lot to hear from people who had had a similar surgery. Thinking of you.
I didn’t have long to panic about my op, as got told on a Friday I was having it on the Monday, and could I come back that pm for pre op assessment! What really helped me though was discussion with anethetist on the Friday afternoon, where he said something along the lines of “we put you in grotty backless gowns, get you to wear grotty stockings and take away any control you have, but put your trust in us we do this everyday, and you will be fine”. I was surprised how calm I was on the day.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
