I was diagnosed with uterine polyps and had a hysteroscopy in early July. Results came back as precancerous so I was referred for an MRI which I had last week. I'm wondering how long it will take for the results to come back. Also I've had a period as normal since but am now experiencing spotting again again afterwards. I'm worried this isn't normal. Has anyone else experienced this?
Thanks
Nic xx
Hi Nicky
Welcome to the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that your results showed a precancerous condition.
There can be a variation with results unfortunately. My ultrasound results took 1 day. My CT and diagnosis were about a week. My post op results were 3 1/2 weeks.
If you do not hear anything soon there would be no harm in contacting your doctor to see if they are back yet. My GP was always sent results electronically and often had them before me.
With regard to the spotting starting again then I would recommend giving the Support Line a call and talking to one of the nurses.

Thanks so much for your reply. I called my consultants secretary today and they haven't received the results from my MRI back yet. She is going to chase them up and give me a call back tomorrow. I mentioned the spotting to her as well so she said would make it a priority. I only seemed to spot for one day but had back ache and pain in my lower abdomen. I'm just wondering how long it would take to fully recover from the hysteroscopy procedure. It was done mid July. After the procedure I had some light bleeding for a week and then it stopped. I've since had my period and then a week later I've had the spotting. Always occurs around a week before ovulation.
Hopefully I'll hear back tomorrow and then we'll go from there.
After my biopsy I bled for around 24 hours and had niggly period type pain for a couple of hours. I felt a bit washed out for a couple of days but that could well have just been the anxiety of having the testing done.
After mine I was told to seek immediate medical advice if I bled heavily- and that was defined as having to change a pad an hour. If you do get any pain or heavy bleeding then its best to contact doctor.
Hope you get some positive news tomorrow.
