Description on line for after hysterectomy says bleeding and pain I have not had any bleeding and pain is minimum now worried this is not normal can anyone advise please

  • Hi HebeHebe, bless you - it sounds like you are worrying because your recovery is going well? Please for your own sake, stop Googling! It’s perfectly normal not to have any bleeding or pain! When I came round from the anaesthetic after my op there was a sanitary pad under me with a tiny spot of dried blood. That was the sum total of my post op bleeding. I didn’t need to use any panty liners or pads. And once the catheter was out the morning after surgery, I had no pain and needed no pain relief, These are the wonders of laparoscopic hysterectomies.

  • I had abdominal hysterectomy and expected bleeding up to 10 days and wore liners in case, but didn’t have any bleeding. After first few days minimal pain, just discomfort when sitting due to where the stitches were.

  • Hi Hebe hebe

I had no bleeding and very little pain.

I felt a bit achy for a couple of days and that was it.

It sounds like you are having a very normal and healthy recovery.

  • Hi Hebe Hebe

I am now 10 weeks post op, my op was due to grade 1 stage 1a endometrial cancer, and I am still off work, not due to pain but a total lack of concentration so very much like you my mind feels exhausted

I had plans to read lots and catch up on TV box sets during my recovery, but I have not picked up a book or watched more than the first episode of anything

I spoke to my GP and she has signed me off until mid August and referred me to counseling. As she explained the whole process from first symptom to referral and tests/treatment is a lot to process and move on from

It is still early days for you, and hopefully you will improve day by day, but if you are still struggling reach out to your GP they will be able to help

    Wishing you the best

    Karen
