Hi, I had my biopsy results 4 days ago, now waiting for an appointment for the scan. Being 60 years old, my body already started failing me in places but now some things make sense. Apparently all my workmates are falling asleep in front of the telly... I call it blackouts, because I don't feel myself drifting off. Sometimes I feel like I'm going to faint while I'm driving. Does anyone know about these symptoms?
Thanks for reading,
Teutonin
Hello Teutonin
Welcome to the Online Community and the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear of your diagnosis of cancer after your biopsy. I remember it as being a pretty scary time.
After a diagnosis it is normal to be given a scan and the purpose is to try to pin point exactly where the cancer is so that they can offer the best treatment. Most ladies are offered a hysterectomy.
Mine was in April 2022 and it was done via keyhole. It was straightforward surgery, I had little pain, stayed in hospital one night and then recovered at home.
It is natural to have questions so I will pop a link to some info that I found helpful myself. It gives some info about the staging and grading of womb cancer and the possible treatments.

If you click on my name, my profile will come up that shows my journey. My symptom was a heavy bleed that lead me to going to hospital and that started the diagnosis process. I had my surgery 4 weeks later.
With regards to your feelings of fainting/black outs this is not something that I have experienced during my cancer. it could or could not be related but we are not medically trained on here so can only speak from our own experiences. Have you spoken to your Doctor about this? I would advise doing so and feeling like you could faint when driving- perhaps this is something to check before you consider driving again- just in case. I would advise asking about blood tests specifically to check iron levels if you have been bleeding. I know that during chemotherapy when my haemoglobin levels were very low- I did feel quite light headed.
We do have an Ask the Expert section where you can post medical questions to a Nurse. It is available from Monday to Friday and they normally respond within 3 working days.

For a quicker response I would suggest giving the Support Line a call. The details are below and I have found them helpful and understanding.
Hope this helps. If there is anything you need or want to ask, then please do so. There are lots of lovely ladies on here who have been where you are now and who will want to offer you support. So please reach out.
I hope that you do not have to wait too long for your scan and for your treatment plan. I found that once the testing was completed, things did move forward fairly quickly.

I had a bit of a funny term while waiting for my surgery and when I went for my pre op my iron levels where extremely low, I was given an infusion and I felt much better. Hope your not waiting to long for your treatment plan, and as Jane says there are lots of women on here who will help you through this x
Hi Jane, thank you for your advise. I will raise these questions on my next consultation, but I thought someone here had a similar experience. I guess it will be a few weeks until I'll be seen again. I don't even have an appointment for the scan yet, it's early days. All my life I've been low on iron and taking supplements, so all good there. Yes, it is post menopausal bleeding which brought me to the doctors, I very rarely go. Let's see how it goes from here.
About me - my story so far
Hi Nannytobe, I am a regular blood donor, so iron is ok. I should update them, surely I'm not allowed to give blood anymore. Off to bed now, work tomorrow as usual, and due to lack of public transpo/ connections I have to drive. At least I have someone to give me a lift to future appointments
