Hello Everyone,
I'm new here. I was experiencing pelvic pain - no bleeding - so my doctor sent me for a pelvic ultrasound. No cancer was mentioned but the report said I had mild thickening. Mine was 7mm and my doctor said it should be around 4. The recommendation is that I get another ultrasound done in 6-12 months. So he sent me a requisition for 6 months - in January. If I experience bleeding he wants me to call immediately and they'll do a biopsy and if my next ultrasound shows over 10 mm he'll do a biopsy. He told me not to worry because he also said it could be a measurement error and even a polyp.
But I was surprised. I had it done at a clinic but I'm thinking I'll get the next one done at the brand new hospital. Guess I'm just scared.
Thanks for listening.

Hi SamanthaJoy
Welcome to the Online Community and the Womb group.
I am sorry to hear that you have been experiencing some pelvic pain.
I can understand why you are concerned about the thickening of your womb lining but what has been suggested does seem normal for the mild thickening. Any further pain or bleeding would need to be reported as then you would need to be seen before then.
Endometrial Hyperplasia: Causes, Symptoms and Treatment (patient.info)
This link tells you a bit about hyperplasia.
With the pain- have they given you any idea what might be causing it? It may be worth asking about this aspect. Your GP should have been sent a report.
For me my scan was done at one clinic, my biopsy was done at the hospital but it can vary and the main thing is that you were seen.
If talking it through would help then please do call the Support Line. The number is below.

Thank you for your response. Wow, Jane. I just read your story and all you've been through. Thank you for being a total inspiration to all of us. And I total agree about pets - I have a dog I just love so much. Sounds as if I am lucky that they caught some thickening and will monitor it. I was just startled because they thought my pain was more bowel related and they still do think that. But on the road to sorting it all out, they sent me for a pelvic exam. I am grateful for this. I knew nothing about endometrial concerns. Thanks so much for listening. I appreciate this so much. And I wish you all the best in your own journey.
