Hi first time posting; fit 55yo who went through menopause straight after giving birth 16years ago, no HRT. Had my second round of bleeding in a few months which lasted three weeks, and was extremely heavy. GP put on 2W pathway, and had US yesterday with an immediate referral on for biopsy etc - report says ‘strong suspicions of cancer’ with 20mm+ plus a large mass that might be a polyp or fibroid still. Having really bad cramping, and am throwing up after eating. So saying ‘Hi’ and feeling not so optimistic as was surprised the consultant was so strong in the wording on the report. Hopefully biopsy in next week or so; bloods not for a few more weeks as GP blood appts are backed up.
Hi Tangle123
Welcome to the Online Community and the Womb group.
I am sorry that you have had some bleeding and that a scan has indicated that there are suspicions it could be cancer. I remember it being really scary to be told about the possibility of cancer.
I hope that you do not have to wait too long to have the appointment for the biopsy. When mine was organised the nurse who was going to be doing it, phoned me at work and talked me through what would happen and this really helped.
I also had some cramping but wasn't being sick. I did have some nausea but looking back for me I think a lot was the worry around it.
With the diagnostic process I would not worry too much about the bloods at the moment. It is the biopsy that is important now as only that will be able to tell if there is any cancer present or if it is a polyp/fibroid. If it turns out that you do need treatment then I found that on most occasions it was the hospital who would arrange these directly.
If is a worrying time so please do post on here as much as helps. There are a lot of lovely ladies on here who will want to offer you support. If chatting things through would help, then I can recommend the Support Line. The details are below.

HI Tangle,
Just wanted to send empathy,
It is such a stressful time.
We all understand here, for me it was worse the before bit; once I'd had my hysterectomy / started treatment I felt things were moving forward.
Hang in there, be kind to yourself and hopefully for you the biopsy shows a fibroid,
Yes definitely hang in there. I went with bleeding after I has been on the menopause.for nearly 5 years. When they did a hysteroscopy they took a biopsy and I found out I had a womb cancer leiomyosarcoma. Luckily it looks like it has not spread from the womb and last Tuesday, I had a full hysterectomy . I am home now recovering and looks like my surgeon got all the cancer. They can literally do miracles these days. Keep your chin up and keep posting on here there are dome really lovely people who can really help you through it all xx
