Sorry I meant to explain a bit better - the anaesthetic and abdominal surgery slows everything down, and can cause wind pains and hard stools. So the light diet and timing meals can help that. I stuck to choc soya milk and fruit the night before my op.

Hi Alicat, length of stay afterwards can vary depending on whether it’s abdominal or keyhole, i was in overnight woke up after op with a catheter and morphine drip and when i took my first steps the next morning i did feel really drunk feeling but that soon passed. When they remove the catheter they want to see you are able to go for a wee and that its clear of any blood. Plus was shown how to give myself fragin injections (anti blood clot injections) i took them for a week some take longer it again varies depending on lots of things. Generally i found the op was no wear near as bad as i thought.

Hey, just thinking of you as you only have a day to go! I know it’s scary, but so good to know that in just over 24 hours you will be out the other side, hopefully home within 48 hours or so, and starting your post op recovery!
