Hi all

I had a full  robotic hysterectomy  3 weeks ago,

The last few days I have been getting a stabbing/ burning pain on the right of my stomach, not where the scars are. It seems OK through the day and usually starts in the evening Trying to  stand up from the settee or sit back down. It really is quite painful. Anybody know what it could be.

Thank you.

  • I had odd stabbing pains in the right side of my groin for a while after my op. A lot of it was healing after the operation. If your worried contact your allocated nurse to discuss. Don't forget you have had major surgery

  • Hello ,

I am sorry your suffering with pain, it’s quite possible that the pain is down to the internal healing as 3 weeks is still really early days . I think sometimes we forget that it’s major surgery. However I would recommend you give your medical team a little call and just let them know what your experiencing as it’s always best to let them know about these things if nothing else for your own reassurance. I know i was still pretty swollen in my abdomen for about 6 weeks after but we are all different the way we heal, my surgery was part keyhole part abdominal but i was amazed how well on the surface my scar healed really well but internally it took some months to fully heal.

Let us all know how you get on.

Sending you a gentle bear hug Bear
