Hello ladies,
Thought I would come on and update you all on how my mum is doing. We received the results of the MRI scan and her cancer has been graded as 1A, I believe this is the best possible outcome, which we are very thankful for. She is booked in to have her hysterectomy on the 18th December. Fingers crossed they can do keyhole surgery so she can out for Christmas. Slightly concerned with the high increase of COVID patients at our hospital, but fingers crossed she can stay safe and COVID free.
Regards

Hi Pancakes7
That is brilliant news. I had my op at Nottingham University, which at the time was very high risk but they took strict precautions so try not to worry.
Big hugs, Barb xx

Hi , Thats some positive news for you, hopefully the hysterectomy can be done keyhole its far quicker recovery although she will still need to take it easy for a while but fingers crossed she can enjoy Christmas at home with the family. I know your concerned about covid, we have a large amount of covid patients going to hospital but I know lots of precaution is taken to protect other patients.
good luck for your Mum on the 18th, sending you both gentle bear hugs

Hi Pancakes,
I think Covid patients are strictly separated.
My husband has had to go down to our hospital twice in all this to have a new speech valve put in. Both times he has been stopped and asked why he was there. He said there were very few people around compared to normal. I know he hasn't been there long, but he has been fine. xxxxx
Hi Pancakes,
Hope your mum's op goes well on Friday. For mine, I was in and out on the same day (keyhole) so meant I spent little time at the hospital. Everyone was very careful about PPE and social distancing so your mum should be fine.
All the best for Christmas,
Dx
Hi Pancakes7,
I hope all goes as well as it can for your Mum tomorrow.
Best wishes

Hello ladies
Just to update you all, mums surgery went well yesterday. They managed to do it keyhole, so she was allowed home this afternoon. Shes very tired, but apart from that is doing really well. She now has to isolate for two weeks though, as the other lady in the ward had a temperature all night and they were uncertain whether it was covid. Fingers crossed mum hasn't picked it up if it was covid. Thanks again for all the well wishes

Fingers crossed indeed that your Mum didn't pick up covid at hospital. I am really pleased that her operation went well. Gentle bear hugs your ways.
