Hello all,
I need some help!!
So the menopause has hit!! And it’s done so pretty hard!! My flushes are like a sensory overload and make me feel sick with the instant heat, but my eyesight goes funny and noise, regardless of what it is makes me angry!!
im not in anyway an angry person so these feelings are the worst!! I’m crying now because I just lost it at my hubby for no reason!! Other than he wouldn’t pause the tv quick enough!!
I feel like I am losing myself because of cancer!! I don’t feel like me anymore!
can anyone help??
thanks Donna xx
Hi TrickishD,
I had a natural menopause, but can remember my children and husband rolling their eyes at each other when I 'flipped'. And my daughters still remind me of the days when everything had to be tidied. They called it my 'Keep Britain tidy' days, and tended to keep out of the way!!
I also remember my daughter suffering with an early menopause throwing open windows while the rest of us sat shivering! Try not to worry, It will pass. xxxxxx
Although there are many jokes about them I think hot flushes are the pits! I had them really bad from 2004 till 2019! They were just subsiding, and then I had my op and the doc warned that I might get them again....and yep, they’ve come back, only not so frequent, grrrrrr. I feel mine building and so I have a sit down. It’s good to have a "flapper" to cool yourself down, e.g magazines lying around the house, that you can flap in front of your face. You can also get little battery operated fans to fit in your handbag to be whipped out when needed. Some people swear by having a water spray to spritz your face and neck with. Wear layers so you can rip your clothes off as soon as you feel the onslaught! But running outside in the nude is not recommended, even if you feel like doing just that!
So I feel for you as it must be a shock when they arrive so suddenly. The doc told me being overweight can make them worse, as oestrogen is stored in fat cells under the skin. Don’t forget your hormones are in turmoil so it’s not surprising you feel like a cauldron boiling over. But the good news is they will go ......eventually!
This cancer business gives us all such a lot to deal with, but don’t lose yourself. You are still you, albeit slightly bonkers at the moment! We are not victims, we are strong women who can kick a*******!!
Take care and hang on in there!
Viv
