Just got phone call from hospital, due to a cancellation I have an appointment to see Gynaecology Consultant on Thursday morning, I’m assuming it’s scan results. I’m bracing for another rollercoaster ride as once wheels start moving things seem to go very quickly. Maybe I’ll be wrong and this part of journey will be more sedate.

Hi Angie,
Hope the appointment goes well - I've found it easier to cope with them being early. The waiting is the thing I find hard.
Take care,

Hi Dreamweaver, Yes, the waiting for some crazy reason seems to be the hardest part of this whole process for me. My appointment is 11:00am so not crazy early but early enough to have it over and done with before lunchtime. I’ve got about an hour travelling time to hospital so it means I’m not going to be spending half the morning on tender hooks driving my poor hubby nuts asking if it’s time to leave yet.

Thanks Barb. I’m just quite surprised ,and pleased of course, that it has been so quick. I’ve just discovered(via my sister googling the doctors name) that the consultant I’m seeing is a surgical consultant. I’m now wondering if this is my scan results or if its the results of the MDT. God doesn’t your brain go into overdrive with this little beggar. Do they normally go to the MDT before giving you the results of scans or does it depend on when the results come through. I know that the MDT at my local hospital meets on a Thursday. The appointment I have isn’t at my local hospital which is another reason why I’m wondering. Of course I’ll keep you posted it’s how we help each other on here, that and sharing good news which unfortunately can be very thin on the ground these days.
My hubby’s face after phone call was over was a picture I simply told him that we were going to the Royal on Thursday morning, poor soul was panic stricken because he thought I was being taken in for surgery and the relief on his face when I said it was just an appointment was absolutely priceless. Am I wicked to find that amusing?

Hi Angie
From what I understand the MDT is made up of Surgeons, oncolgists, anaesthetists etc. When I saw my consultant he only had my Hysteroscopy, biopsy and MRI scan results. He chased up the CT scan results as we chatted, which I'd only had done 3 days earlier and his teams MDT meeting was the following Monday. They evaluate all aspects and plan your particular route.
I'm still amazed at the speed that they get everything sorted, especially for me across county, to us sitting worrying at home it's an eternity - my op is now a distant memory and certainly not a painful one at that!
Roll on Thursday, keep us posted!
Big hugs, Barb xx

Thanks Barb. I’m just sitting here trying to write out all the questions that have been going through my head since the phone call on Monday but would you believe it my mind has gone blank. What a time to have a senior moment . No doubt it’ll all come back to me, probably in the middle of the night when I’m supposed to be sleeping.
Will let you know how it goes tomorrow.

Hi Angie
Don't worry if you can't think of questions at the moment. They are experts at explaining exactly what any tests so far have revealed. How they plan to treat it and what will happen after any surgery. We have to remember it's what they find in histology dictates what happens next.
If you think of any questions after your consultation they'll be more than happy to answer them for you, you'll be be assigned a CNS (Cancer Nurse Specialist - think) and nothing seems to be too much trouble for them.
I remember I'd researched Dr Google before I went and knew TLH, BSO but they were the ones that explained in words I could understand what was involved.
Try and get some sleep tonight, just think this way, you're now on your road to recovery!
Big hugs, Barb xx

Thanks Barb, I have put questions to the side as hubby’s come in and told me that our blooming car has developed a problem apparently it’s saying Gearbox faulty. It won’t go into reverse gear. He phoned garage and has been told that it could be anything from £150 to £1500 depending on fault and if they need to replace gearbox but they can’t deal with it until Monday. So I’ve had to book a hire car for tomorrow to get me to hospital. That’s £70 I hadn’t planned on spending, needless to say I’m hoping the car repair is the £150 price tag. My gran always used to say “it never rains but it pours” I’m beginning to think she’ was right. I’m off now to grab a cuppa and I might just dip into the choccie biscuits and to hell with the consequences.
