Hello Everyone
Just had the call from the hospital, I'm so relieved to be told I'm cancer free. All 6 lymph nodes were clear.
As my cancer was a high grade (described as angry) so to keep me clear for the next 10/20 years they have offered me an "optional extra" Just 3 sessions of internal radiotherapy over 2 weeks (Monday, Thursday & Monday) It is described like a tampon inserted in the top of the vagina , the nurses leave, you're in for about 7 minutes, then get dressed and go home.
I'll also have to learn to use dilators otherwise the vagina will heal up!! I'll have to have 3 or 6 monthly checkups for the next 5 years.
Seeing the oncologist tomorrow at Lincoln, don't have to go over to Nottingham for treatment. Coincidentally he's the same doctor who treated my hubby for prostate cancer.
I can't stop crying, months of fear & worry leaking out everywhere!
Stay safe all, big hugs to you all, Barb xx
I'll try not to, don't want to dilute (haha dilate) it. Bxx
