I've finished my treatment, 5 cycles of chemotherapy, 25 sessions of radiotherapy. Last radiotherapy was 14 Th July.

But I'm still getting times of total fatigue. I sleep OK and get up feeling fine. Do one thing~put the washing in today~and that's it. Cannot do anything else.

  • Hi . I  hope you don't mind a man jumping in to this group, but I noticed your post has gone unanswered. Fatigue post treatment is very common. Radiotherapy continues working for a couple of weeks after treatment finishes. Then the recovery starts. Fatigue is believed to be the body's way of dealing with the trauma it has gone through. The body partly shuts down to allow all available energy to go towards recovery. I had chemo and radio for my own cancer and it took about 3 months before the fatigue started to fade. I was wiped out for a few hours each day so know how you feel. I hope you pick up soon. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

    Hi Nina60,

I understand how you feel, the Fatigue thing is horrible. I finished all my treatment in February this year & I still get days like that every now & again, the only thing I can say is that it improves as time passes but there is no way of saying when it will pass. I set myself a certain amount of job's each day & did things until I had reached a certain point & then stopped, over time my energy levels built up so this will get better so don't be too hard on yourself, listen to your body it's telling you to slow down a bit.

I also took Multi Vitamins which I think helped, drank plenty of water & tried to eat a healthy diet but I did get annoyed with myself from time to time but then decided I just needed to go with the flow as this is something that cannot be controlled, also a little walk to get some fresh air helped me even if it was only for 10 minutes. Hang on in there !!
