Sorry it's been a while so thought i would pop along & say hello & see how everyone is doing.

Just reading through some of the posts & like many of you I also have had appointments changed/cancelled due to Covid, I did however have my scan the other week & they called to say everything is fine, but they also mentioned that I had missed an appointment which I knew nothing about & they have made a follow up appointment for next week. Seeing as I have had my results during the telephone conversation I am now wondering if I should cancel this as it's quite a trek for me to get to Gloucester for a 10 minute chat which I have already had.

Anyway I hope you are all doing well,I know it's been a real struggle with Covid going on & it must be really tough on the new comers to the group. I have not had a chance to join in & have had lots going on & also have my Sciatica back which is causing me problems getting about, but hopefully that will disappear soon.

Sending you all Love & Hugs

  • Hi just,

Its so nice to see people popping back now that they have recovered. I do think it must encourage new comers.

I used to get Sciatica, but since my hysterectomy I've had none in 3 years!!! I wonder if the womb was pressing on a nerve!! I have also learnt over the years that if I get a twinge I stop whatever I an doing, and rest up for a few days. Its annoying, but I can stave it off like that.

    Hi NannyAnny,

Great to hear from you ! I agree we must support & encourage our new comers through these difficult times as we have all been there ourselves.

Strange that your Sciatica went away after surgery ? but also good at the same time. I never had it before, but approx 3 months ago it just started then eased off for a while & the beginning of this week it started again, so annoying though.

I am going to slow things down this weekend & hopefully that will make a difference.

    Love & Hugs xx

  • Hello , great to hear from you and I am really happy to hear your recent scans were all good. Sorry you missed an appointment the letter must of got lost in the post. Its a difficult question really I can understand you not wanting a big trek for a ten minute appointment my oncologist is also based out of town and its a fair trek to go. Maybe worth a chat with your CNS and ask what they are wanting to do is they may wish to examine you and obviously they need to see you but if its just a chat perhaps ask if they can do a telephone or video call consultation. I really simplify about your back I am having real problems with my back and nerve pain everywhere and the Doctor not being sure if the tumour in my spine which I know is active is causing the pain or if I have fibromyalga or even simply trapping something it does get problematic when I get a spasm and drop stuff, and sleep well at the moment a good nights sleep pain free and I would be jumping for joy. Backs are a nightmare. I could suggest that you could do what I am doing and putting a bit extra cushion to support back, it may help you.

Fingers crossed for the appointment and great hearing from you and sending a gentle hug, I can't even hug at the moment without being in pain, so a gentle one for you will be best too

Hi GBear great to hear from you again ! I have decided to call the department tomorrow to re-arrange my appointment as my Sciatica is really playing up & I don't think I can bear the long trip there & back but I will explain I had a telephone conversation with my CNS the other day & see what they say.

Sorry to hear you are suffering with your back as well, I know it's horrible & draining. Thanks for the tip about an extra cushion I will try that tonight as my sleep is being interrupted which in turn makes me irritable during the day. So happy to be back on here chatting it really still helps even though everything is going well at the moment, I hope your pain improves soon as I totally understand what you are putting up with, sending you gentle hugs too HuggingHuggingHugging
