Typing this in hospital where I had operation 2 days ago to remove womb cervix ovaries fallopian tubes and surrounding lymph nodes, due to serous cancer found in a uterine polyp. Told it was a complete success and no complications. Would have  gone home next daif it was just a hysterectomy but as it was lymph nodes as well wanted me to stay in another day

Chief problem has been I find it very difficult to digest antibiotics and there is quite a long list I cannot take because they make me nauseous or give me the runs. They also destroy my appetite which means I have not been eating enough and got dehydrated. So I am still here at present but hope to go home tomorrow morning Then it is back in 2 weeks for results. Fingers crossed nothing has spread- ct and MRI scans were clear. Very dashing anaethetist.

  • I'm glad your op went well nightingale, take it easy and let them run around after you in hospital as long as you need it, they were really good at letting me stay until I felt I was ready to go home. The anaesthetist sounds dreamy!

    Lots of love

Take care, don't do anything to over exert yourself.

  • Hi nightingale,  glad to here that your op went well, take care and  I  hope you are home soon. I  felt very sick after my aesthetic, though I wasn't sick I had to have 3 bags of saline through a drip, they had to change the cannula  in the middle of the night as my had swelled up. I  still went home  after 24 hours and have been fine since. My fingers are crossed for your results.

  • Hello  I’m glad to hear that your op went well though sad to hear you’ve got some problems with dehydration etc. Hopefully you’ll be going home soon. Rest up, follow all the rules about what you can/can’t do post  op and take good care of yourself. I hope all your histology results come back clear. Please let us know how things go. Gentle hugs coming your way. x

  • I wS in the Recovery ward for several hours because my blood pressure had dropped and I kept trying to go back to sleep. Probably because it was a,ong operation and the lingering effects of the GA. It took 24 hours for it to return to normal.

  • Back at home, resting. Pretty sore and a cough. But manageable..... Next hurdle the self injections. Initially they said I did not need any, but they they had a consult among themselves and said I did. At least at home I can graze.

  • On a practical note, I took in some extra big knickers to wear post op, but I have several little laparascopy scars dotted around my tummy and could not adjust them go fit comfortably.over everything. So at home I have changed into bikini briefs, slung below my tummy and a long clingy tee in very soft cotton on top. Works for me.

Glad to hear you are all done and back home.

I'm sure the jabs are best. I had 28 days worth.

The little spring loaded jab things are really easy to do, and dont hurt. You just pick up a bit of belly fat ( easier for some of us than others) and put the end of the jab surround against your skin, vertically, press the plunger gradually, right down so you hear it click to spring back into the holder, and hey presto. You do a different  side of your belly on alternate days, cos you get all these little purple dots on your tum. They disappear in the same timescale as any bruise.

    Enjoy grazing x

  • Don't you have to. Push the needle right in first, then press the plunger? Ie  2 Stage process? 0r is that what you meant?
