Hi Blackmountain, I have had 2 vulval surgeries is 9 months. Original on 4th January for a "CYST" which turned out to be Leiomyosarcoma. 2nd surgery 29th March and 6 months on don't know if what I feel is normal! Just been referred to Colorectal sarcoma, though not told i have bowel cancer! I work full time, mum of 1 aged nearly 47. Life is tough... if you want to chat I'm here.
Kind regards
Chrissy x
Hi Blackmountain,
I have had 2 vulva surgeries, the first one has been called a wide local excision and a partial vulvectomy, so I'm not sure which it was. The second was a wide local excision. I agree it feels like such a personal area to talk about, however I always think if someone else was going through it then I would like them to feel able to talk to me about it. So I'm sure those close to us would be only to happy to listen. If you would feel more comfortable speaking with someone you don't know then the Macmillan support line would be a good place to start. They are lovely and very understanding, you can contact them on the phone number below. There is also the option to talk to a therapist, if you're here in the UK you can have talking therapy on the NHS and there are also charities that offer therapy. Macmillan themselves offer therapy if you meet certain criteria. You can read more about Macmillan counselling here, There are also support groups for those affected by cancer, you could look into these and see what is available in your local area by clicking this link.
Please also feel free to message me on here.
