Hello, I've just been diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer, and frankly I'm overwhelmed and very emotional. I have been told that I will start with Chemo and have my appointment to discuss that on Thursday. I've also been asked about going on a trial. I am 53, and white, so apparently not the normal profile for this type of bc. But any support or thoughts very much appreciated.
Hi Jo where are you at at the moment - I’m waiting to see the oncologist next Wednesday wondering what that will bring !
Hello Robin, I was expecting to start chemo on Tuesday, but there has been a delay as I am going on a trial, and the CT scan showed a cyst on my appendix and that has thrown a bit of a spanner in the works. Also told that my axilial nodule is slightly enlarged. Really all a bit glum right how.
I’m also TN and was due to have my second FEC on Monday but has been put back a week as my bloods aren’t playing ball! I’m 51 and my first chemo was difficult with nausea but I’ve been prescribed new anti sickness tablets which really helped. ( sorry for jumping on this thread). It’s such a journey but glad to read other people’s experiences and know that we’re not alone x
Hi Yanyan,
Same position as you after 1st EC- delayed twice - but just had 2nd and new regime of anti -emetic meds has really helped. It is so helpful to hear others stories and be encouraged.
