Hey all!

So scar is healing well and I put SPF etc on but I wanted to know does anyone put oil on? I didn't want to go buy specifically bio oil if not necessary but do you think just a natural oil like jojoba etc?

Thanks for the input :)

  • Hi mojmoj, I've used Bio oil from the start and nearly 10 months on my scar is hardly noticeable. This was recommended by my consultant or he said any similar type of oil would be effective. Hope that helps Slight smile

  • Thanks! I guess might as well still start with it sooner than later

  • I think for me it also helped with moving the skin gently around that area too, which is ultimately good to prevent scar tissue. Took me a fair while before I was confident with even touching it though but yes if you can, the sooner you start the better Slight smile

  • I had a TT and dissection in Feb 22 and was advised to use bio oil and massage the scars firmly for 10 mins morning and evening.  I was obsessive about it and now I’m told by the doctors that  my scars are as good as they could be.  I think I did it for about 3 months or so.

  • Hi, I had a hemithyroidectomy about 10 days ago and I am using Aveeno Body Oil Spray for very dry, sensitive skin mixed with pure calendula oil, avocado oil and evening primrose oil. I then lock in the moisture with a layer of vasaline. Already beginning to stop being as red.

  • Hi!
I used the scar balm from Naydaya. It’s amazing. And then Kelocote for afterwards. It’s pricey, but it works - the combination has worked a dream on my scar (TT and left radical modified neck dissection).
