Issues with injection. Is this something others experience?

Hi there,

I got a bilateral orchiectomy and have been on once per week injection for a year now. I always feel unbalanced hormonally, and by that I mean that I feel good the first few days after the injection but then steadily experience symptoms of low T - fatigue, brain fog, depression, etc, - toward the second half of the week. It feels pretty debilitating and challenging to deal with this every week. I'm thinking of going back to gel, which I was on for about five months before going to injections. I thought the injection would be less of a hassle but maybe I need the daily, consistant levels that the gel offers every day. My question is whether this is something others experience with the injection, and whether they opt for gel instead? Is this normal?

Thanks!

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.

I can't help with your question but noticed that you hadn't had any replies yet. Responding to you will 'bump' your post back to the top of the discussion list where it'll be more easily spotted.

It would be great if you could pop something about your diagnosis and treatment so far into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
