Hi there. New to the site. Recently got diagnosed and I've had my surgery just over a week ago. Waiting on hearing back about where I go next. I've been feeling alot better the last few days and yesterday I felt that good that I actually done some pushing while I was on the toilet. Nothing major but certainly more than I have been since surgery. Everything felt fine I had no discomfort but when I stood up after I noticed that the scar had bulged out about an inch if not more. I quickly panicked and phoned my gp and even my surgery and then my own specialist nurse. One said incision hernia, one said swelling but my specialist nurse who I trust the most said it was nothing to worry about and it can happen and to just keep a hand over it when moving for the next few days and it should be ok. She had said it is too early on for it to be a hernia. My enquiry is to see if anyone else experienced this during their first couple weeks. Im hoping it's not going to cause hernia later in life. Any response welcomed. Thank you for reading.
Hi Andrew
I had my surgery on the 30th December and I’d say I’m pretty much healed now aside a little aching now and then. I haven’t driven or run yet I’m waiting a few more days.
I did get a sort of lump thing near the incision that I was worried was either a hernia or infection. I went to my GP twice over a few days and they said it was fine (even though it looked like an egg). Now 10 days later it has settled down.

Hi goldenball thanks for the reply. That's good to know. Mine was like an egg aswell in shape. Larger in the middle and going down at either side. It has subsided a little now and I am making sure not to strain that area and no pushing. I hope for the both of us that it isn't going to be something that will affect us long term. I had my surgery on the 12th. So 10 days ago. Hopefully by this time next month I'll be to drive etc again. That would be nice
